“ Excellent food, wine (and craft beer) and service. Actually wondering whether it’s worth eating elsewhere in the Coromandel. The gnocchi was pillowy soft, tuna and beef poke well marinated and perfectly seasoned, and perfectly cooked ostrich. Service was attentive and swift, with helpful context about the ingredients and dishes. The wine list is expansive and incredibly well priced. The craft beer list equally so! ”
“ Absolutely fantastic experience. So good we came twice during our stay at Cooks Beach. The decor, the service, the delicious menu, everything was excellent. I highly recommend you come herr ”
“ The food was delicious, well presented and the outside table setting was perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed by all. ”
“ Wow what an experience. It started raining Sunday night and we almost decided to stay in; we are definitely glad we didn’t. This place didn’t miss a beat. The food was amazing and the service was as well. It’s a true dining experience from start to finish. We look forward to coming back next time. ”
“ We had dinner here on 6th July. We shared 4 of the 5 vegetarian dishes on the menu. The food was delicious and flavour excellent. Forgot to photograph the first one. Great service. We were the first there at 6pm and the place filled up from about 6:30pm onwards. Remember to make a reservation! ”
“ Amazing experience. Secret spot in Cooks beach. My husband and me had the dinning experience and was so tasty. We strongly recommend. My favourite dish was the ostrich tataki and the kawakawa sorbet after the fish was flavourful. I need to mention the “ Kaisen’s tiramisu version” it was so rich. The seasoning food was perfect. We Loved the stir-fried persimmons, charming and hihgly pleasant to the taste. Our taste buds are very happy and grateful for the restaurant. ”
“ My husband and I celebrated our 18th Anniversary at Kaizen at Go Vino today, 10/8/2025. Our booking was 6:15pm. Upon arrival at around 6:05pm, the owner Ryan said that we were too early. Anyway, he asked us to take a seat and would come to serve us later. As there were 2 big tables of around 15 people each, Ryan was pretty busy taking care of orders and entertaining these two big groups of people. These people were those attending their Wine Club functions at 4:30pm and then had dinner after that. With only one young Indian lady whom seemed to be not so experienced, we managed to get our orders done. As this is our first time we have dined at Kaizen, we did have quite a high expectation of service. Unfortunately, due to lack of staff and a huge group of people, we were not able to get top notch services. Luckily, towards the closing time of the restaurant around 8pm, Ryan had some time chatting with us. Anyway, we were so happy to meet a lovely couple who own their farm in Te Ruru Waikato. We enjoyed chatting with them. Food was pretty delicious, especially Pork Roast and mushrooms. Dessert was fantastic. We would recommend you to dine there NOT on Sundays but maybe week days to avoid the huge group of Wine Club people on Sundays. ”
